West Polden Parishes and Shapwick Harvest Supper
25th September 2010-
On Saturday evening 25th September about eighty people gathered in the Edington Village Hall to partake of The Harvest Supper.
A truly harvest flavour to this meal cooked by the men of the parishes, plenty of vegetables and meat in a casserole. Very tasty. Well done!
This of course was followed by delicious fruit pies, pavlovas and fruit salads with
cream and ice-
Before and after the meal we were entertained by ‘Pheobus’, David on guitar and Donna singing.
The raffle money will be donated to the charity ‘Send a Cow’
A most enjoyable evening.
West Polden Parishes Harvest Festival
26th September 2010
On Sunday 26th September St.Peter’s Church Catcott played host to the West Polden Parishes to celebrate Harvest Festival.
Fran Walsh and Lou Mullett met and greeted the congregation at the porch door, the Rev. Trish Ollive led the service and Andrew Gordon Clark played the organ.
The collection is to be sent to the charity ‘Send a Cow’, whose aim it is to enable African families to provide enough food to feed them selves, sell some of their produce and develop small businesses.

The Church looked resplendent in her autumn colours, beautifully decorated by the Flower Guilds of St.Georges Edington and St.Edwards Chilton Polden.
Coffee was served after the service by Heather Eccles, Julia Wadey and Bridget Frier.
Being a sunny morning, if a little breezy, some brave folks took their coffee out side to drink it in the sunshine.
